Horoscope for February 9th

A poem that carries forward the ironical take on horoscopes in A Murray’s comic film Retrograde.

You will wake up slightly
hungover, the morning sky
is out of control but look
closely at Venus in the corner
of the water meadow.
You will get emails from
strangers and relations who
are also strangers.  See
coincidence for what it is, nothing
to do with you.  You will
be rejected three times.  Remember
that today is the birthday
of your daughter’s dead lover.
The moon is moving
into your solar eleventh house.
To prepare, sweep under
the stairs and in your closet.
Hang up your laundry.
